Although there are many other kinds of pressure transducers, the strain-gage base transducer is one of the most used. The physical deformation of strain gauges, which are glued into the pressure transducer's diaphragm and wired into a wheatstone bridge configuration, results in the conversion of pressure into an electrical signal. By deflecting the diaphragm as a result of pressure supplied to the pressure transducer, strain is introduced to the gauges. Electrical resistance will alter as a function of strain and pressure.
